Great to meet you!

I received my undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University and my Master's degree from the University of Houston-Victoria. I am an LPC-S and CSC in addition to providing CART. I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Personality Disorders and utilize Solution-Focused, EMDR, Sand Tray, and Play Therapy. My husband and I own Morningsong Therapy in Wharton, Texas, and I am the Director of Counseling and Disability Services at our local junior college.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I have been in education for twenty-seven years. My approach to therapy includes but is not limited to providing the client with the tools needed to feel empowered on their journey. I do not only use one type of counseling theory. I use the best interventions and resources from a variety of therapy sources. My philosophy of counseling is working with the client to create goals and an agenda for our sessions together.

What you can expect from our first session

First, I want to let you know that you are making a very mature decision to seek counseling for yourself. I am an affirming therapist. The goal is for you to feel motivated, accepted, and heard.
