Amanda is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor. She earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with an emphasis on couples and families from Sam Houston State University. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Social Behavior, with a minor in Educational Studies from the University of California, Irvine.

Amanda works from a systemic and relational standpoint. In addition to relational and systemic ideas, she believes in tailoring techniques to each client and may employ ideas from CBT, Solution Focused, person-centered, and others as appropriate. She values each client’s unique perspective and recognizes the importance of each client’s culture and belief system. Amanda enjoys working with children, adolescents, couples, families, and individuals.

Amanda has experience working in a variety of settings, including schools, homes, clinics, and community counseling settings, in addition to experience in private practice. She has been working with children and families of children with behavioral disorders for more than ten years. Most recently, she worked as a therapist providing mainly social skills' training and parent training for a behavioral therapy company. She did a one-year internship at a crisis and trauma center where she gained experience with a very diverse clientele, most of whom had extensive trauma histories.
