Headway

Amanda

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with training and expertise in both Cognitive Behavior Therapy as well as psychodynamic treatment. I work with young adults and adults and have expertise treating patients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, compulsive and addictive behaviors. I have specialized training in various evidence based treatments for trauma such as Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Skills and Training in Affective and Interpersonal Relationships (STAIR). I hope to help patients learn effective ways to cope with stress, manage difficult emotions and communicate well with others.

As a psychologist, my philosophy is truly to meet a patient where he or she is at in his or her journey and readiness to change. I use a compassionate and empathetic style to work with patients in a collaborative way to come up with different goals and ways of reaching those goals together.

Beginning therapy can be a difficult first step. I strive to create a safe environment that fosters trust between patient and therapist. I am happy to speak via phone for a free consultation to help decide if I am the right therapist to best fit your needs, help you understand the process of therapy and know what to expect throughout treatment.
