I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and grew up in a small town in Texas near Houston. As far as I can remember, I have always wanted to help people in some way or another. I started my education at Texas A&M where I have my undergraduate degree in psychology, as well as had the opportunity to learn about the many opportunities in Social Work. I received my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington returned to Houston where I developed my passion for helping others. I am a strong believer that counseling should fit your individual needs. As a therapeutic partner, I connect with my clients quickly and genuinely in a safe, trusting environment.

My experiences ranges from working with woman’s health issues: prenatal, early pregnancy loss, to issues related to being older: caregiver burnout, adjustment to changes in parental relationships, and end of life issues. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, ADHD, and grief and loss.

My passion lies in helping individuals with a chronic or terminal illness, and their families, by offering a sense of hope and a visible way forward. My background as a counselor in the hospital setting, gives me direct insight into your struggles with chronic illness and losing those close to you. Our work together will help you successfully move through your grief. This process may include feelings of profound sadness, loneliness, abandonment, guilt and having spiritual questions, into feelings of acceptance, peace, and comfort.

My experience with grief and loss, spans from pre/postnatal to the loss of an elder. No two grief-experiences are alike. I will guide you and support you on your unique journey of healing by providing a safe space to process, laugh, cry and be heard. By working together, we will create the best plan of action to help you achieve your goals in counseling.

I utilize evidence-based practices in my work, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy and other integrative approaches.
