Alicia

As a mental health clinician, Alicia aims to cultivate a confidential healing space in which client and therapist can collaborate on a plan of treatment that provides the greatest therapeutic benefit for the individual’s specified needs.

After earning her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Alicia furthered her studies at Teachers College Columbia University and received the advanced degree titles of a Master of Arts (MA) in Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Education (Ed.M.) in Mental Health Counseling.

In her general practice, she has experience working with issues regarding mood and personality disorders, bereavement, eating disorders, physical and cognitive limitations, and intersectional identities. Areas of clinical specialization include addiction and substance use, depression, anxiety, interpersonal relationships, and trauma/crisis intervention.

Within her academic and professional training, Alicia has found that utilizing goal focused evidence-based practices such as ACT, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing (MI), underscored by Multicultural Counseling, have helped her clients strengthen their coping skills and promoted personal and professional self-development.

Alicia is a member of the American Counseling Association, American Mental Health Counseling Association.
