I use DBT and CBT often in therapy. I tend to be solution-focused and believe that we all have an active role in our mental health. On the flip side, I also strongly believe that our mental health is influenced by our biology, experiences, social influences, circumstances, and spirituality. I love to help people sort through the muck of their struggles and provide the tools and space to do the hard work that helps people find healing.
I received my Masters in Social Work (MSW) from New Mexico Highlands University in 2011. I have been practicing in Colorado for the last 4 years. I have been working at a Behavioral Health hospital for the last three years and am currently on the Crisis Team. Prior to doing crisis work, I worked on the outpatient team doing group therapy in the Partial Hospitalization Program and Intensive Outpatient Program. I also worked with the Wings Foundation for 2 years as a group Facilitator for women who have experienced childhood sexual abuse. I have 3 years of experience in private practice and have 9 years of experience in mental health.
