Adam has advanced training in modern psychoanalysis from the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center; he is certified in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy from the Albert Ellis Institute; and has trained in psychotherapy at SUNY Downstate Hospital’s Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. He is a certified Field Instructor and through Fordham University (SIFI). In addition to treating clients, he also provides supervision to other Psychotherapists.
Your first session (or consultation) with Adam will be more like a two way interview. He will get to know you, and you’ll get to know him.
In order for therapy to be successful, it is important to establish a client/therapist relationship that is supportive and honest. In fact, it is the nature – and the quality – of your relationship that will determine the success of your overall therapy goals. The success of the ‘meeting of the minds’ with your psychotherapist is the most accurate predictor of a positive, healthy outcome to the hard work you put in towards your happiness.
